Spacewalkers Mike Fossum and Ron Garan have begun to inspect the starboard Solar Alpha Rotary Joint, or SARJ. The SARJ has been operating in a degraded mode due to debris contamination. The spacewalkers will demonstrate a technique that may be used to clean the debris, including using a grease gun to lubricate the outer race ring of the SARJ. They also will install a SARJ Trundle Bearing Assembly replacement.
