Spacewalkers Mike Fossum and Ron Garan continue preparing the Kibo Japanese Pressurized Module for its installation on the space station's Harmony node later today. Next, they will turn their attention to an inspection of the starboard Solar Alpha Rotary Joint, or SARJ. Debris has degraded the SARJ operation, and the spacewalkers will demonstrate a technique that may be used to clean the debris. They also will reinstall a SARJ Trundle Bearing Assembly.
Although the spacewalk started 50 minutes late, the crew is about an hour ahead of the timeline.
