What's the news on SRB recovery? I heard something a while back about non-recovery to enhance performance- was that just for Ares-V or was it merely an idea, and not actually necessary?
That's the first I've heard of it. Do you have any more info? I'm pretty curious about that.

It has been proposed to make for the under performance of Ares I. That is in itself negates a primary reason for using an SRB for the first stage of Ares i.
(per the ESAS)
