Space shuttle Endeavour returned to the air atop a 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft after stopping for fuel at Biggs Army Air Field near El Paso, Texas. The aircraft and shuttle took off at 2:30 p.m. and will land at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, formerly Carswell AFB, in Ft. Worth, Texas, where it will remain overnight. It is scheduled to arrive about 4:20 p.m. EST. The ferry flight began soon after sunrise in California as the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft with Endeavour bolted to its top took off from Edwards Air Force Base.
NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida is the ultimate destination for Endeavour during the ferry flight. Endeavour’s arrival there could occur as soon as Thursday, but the weather forecast suggests that is unlikely.
